It started with something small.
Annoyingly small.

A task I had to do every four hours.

Not once. Not “tick it off and forget it.”
Every. Four. Hours.

At first, I did what anyone would do.

I tried setting a reminder in Outlook.
It didn’t quite work the way I needed.

My Time with Firejail: How to Uninstall Without Blowing Up Your System

I recently installed a package called “Firejail” on my Linux system (CachyOS with KDE Plasma). The intention was to add some hardening to any instance of Firefox I ran. Unfortunately, Firejail appeared to pretty much jail almost all aspects of my system-including one particularly annoying one: screenshots (Spectacle).

Needless to say, it had to go.

When Good Intentions Meet Reality

The irony wasn’t lost on me. Here I was, trying to secure one application, and I’d inadvertently locked myself out of basic desktop functionality. I’ll admit-I attempted to configure Firejail correctly from the start. The problem is that Firejail comes with numerous default profiles for many popular applications, and when you run the firecfg tool, it creates symlinks for all applications that have profiles, effectively sandboxing them system-wide.

Something about the line “Namibia’s President has firmly rejected…” made me stop scrolling and actually read. It wasn’t the politics. It wasn’t the drama. It was the tone — the tone of a country refusing, politely but firmly, to be used as someone else’s test case.

On 11–12 August 2025 an X post from African Hub flagged a statement by Namibia’s President, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, rejecting a proposal to trial an eight-year hormonal IUD. Regional outlets picked it up quickly — The Maravi Post ran a piece the same day outlining the President’s concerns.
